These instruments were designed to be played as part of Tod Machover's Toy Symphony, (MIT Media Lab). Designed to allow a player to control music software played on a PC by squeezing and touching, each instrument contains eight unique embroidered sensors, which use a capacitive sensing method to measure pressure or how hard the user touches the sensor. Each instrument is designed to be played with different types of digitally generated music. Pattern, texture and shape are varied.
