Big Dot, 2003

Big Dot is a hand-woven color change textile that explores the effect of different weave structures in color change textiles. Herringbone twill is combined with a deflected weft structure. The herringbone twill structure is visible when the conductive yarn is heated and the color change ink changes color. By deflecting the conductive yarn in the weft, shapes are created in the color change ink as well. With IFM Design Studio.

Media: Cotton, rayon, conductive yarns, silver ink, thermochromic ink, custom drive electronics and expressive software. 12"w x 14"h, per section.
